Jamie and Morgan's 2006 buck

Here is a picture of the buck I shot on Saturday night! Of course I had My blood hound Morgan (Jamie's daughter) along for the tracking job..........:)  She loves tracking.  I can't wait until she can shoot one herself!!!!

I shot this guy a few minutes after sunset on 10-21-06.  He came in to a scrape, worked it up pretty good then headed down the trail in front of my new stand.  I shot him quartering away at 21 yards.  I had a double lung pass through. He went not quite 100 yards, and bled like a stuck hog......I'm Impressed with the job my new G5 three blade Montec's did!  They made a great hole and an easy blood trail to follow!

He didn't score nearly as well as I thought he would when I shot him.  But for around here he is a good buck and I'm happy with him!

Field dressed weight was 180 pounds!

Jamie's 2006 turkey

Here is a picture of my first Turkey! I shot it on 4-22-06 at approximately 6:55 am at 24 yards. I killed this bird on my father in-laws land just 1/4 mile from my house in SW MN. He weighs 22lbs, has a 10'' beard, and 3/4'' spurs!

Pictured with Jamie are his daughter, Morgan, and son, Dawson.

Jamie's 2004 buck and moose

I first saw this buck around the middle of Oct. He was 80yds. away and there was only 5-10 minutes of legal shooting hours left so it was hard to tell how good of buck he was, but I knew he had to be pretty good. A week or so later I saw him again in the same spot as the first time. I had somewhat of a pattern on him, now it was just a matter of time and a little luck. I hunted him really hard for a couple of weeks. The first firearms season came and went I thought he might still be alive because the guys that gun hunted this land took some pot shots at a "nice tall buck". These guys weren't hunting the second weekend so I had the land all to my self. Sunday Nov 14 at 4:30 pm he finally gave me the opportunity I was waiting for. He came down the trail at 13yds I stopped him broad side with a grunt, released, made a good hit. After a 15 minute tracking job I found my buck expired in the trees.  He measures out to be a 12 point buck with an unofficial green score of 136 3/8 gross.

I shot this Moose on day five of our ten day hunt.  We were up in the BWCA in Minnesota.  As you may know, as of 1990 you only get issued a Moose license in Minnesota once in a lifetime.  So, we were getting a little anxious about getting a moose and we only had a few days left.  We had seen one nice Bull only once and nothing else.  So, on day five after 1 hour of calling,  I had a small 20'' bull come into the clearing. After giving him a soft cow call he walked to 17yds. where I had a complete pass through. The bull just flinched a little and went about his business. He stopped and smelled the scent wick I had out, proceeded to a nearby wallow, urinated in it then walked 30yd and fell over dead. He had no idea he had been shot.

Of course I wish he would have been a record Moose, but the hunt was unforgettable.  I wish I could do it again........Canada, here I come!
